Aquila ist seit Mittwoch dem 24. April 2013 wieder zurück im North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro. Er war zwei Jahre lang im Zoo in Detroit untergebracht, da in Asheboro die Eisbärenanlage umgebaut wird. Die neue Anlage wird erst 2014 fertig gestellt sein, doch man ist mit den Bauarbeiten so weit, dass Platz für Aquila vorhanden ist.
Since Wednesday, April 24, 2013, Aquila has been back at the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro. He had been taken to the Detroit Zoo for two years, while the facility in Ashboro was rebuilt. The opening date for the new exhibit was supposed to be ready in 2014, but work had progressed so well, that room for Aquila is already available.

Aquila hat bis zum 15. Mai 2013 Zeit sich hinter den Kulissen an die neue Umgebung einzugewöhnen, bis er auf der Außenanlage zu sehen sein wird. Seine Fans freuen sich schon auf ihn.
Until May 15, 2013, Aquila will be settling in behind the scenes in the new facility before he goes on display to the public. His fans are already pleased with him.
Aquila wurde 1992 im Louisville Zoo geboren und hat schon einige Umzüge hinter sich. Den größten Teil seines Lebens hat er aber im North Carolina Zoo zugebracht.
Aquila was born in the Louisville Zoo in 1992 and has already been moved several times. But for most of his life, he has been at the North Carolina Zoo.
Der andere Eisbär des North Carolina Zoos Wilhelm – von seinen Fans liebevoll Willy genannt – bleibt zunächst im Milwaukee County Zoo in Wisconsin.
The other polar bear at the North Carolina Zoo, Wilhelm – nicknamed “Willy” by his fans – will stay at the Milwaukee County Zoo in Wisconsin a little longer.
